The Packer side of the company

John M. Packer founded Packer & Associates in 1975. Previously, John had worked in the industry in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Iowa, and Wisconsin, assisting a diversity of clients with their unemployment needs.

Since 1975, John has led Packer & Associates as it has grown from a one-man operation to an active company assisting clients across the U.S.

In addition to assisting clients, John has been instrumental in passing legislation to benefit employers in unemployment matters. He has also sat on task forces representing the employer community before the Michigan Unemployment Agency and testified at legislative hearings on behalf of employers. Legislators frequently consult him about the effect of proposed legislation on business, and judges often solicit his interpretation of existing unemployment law. He presently is a member of the legislative technical study committee and serves on the board of the Employers Unemployment Compensation Council.

Brian Packer:

Brian officially began working in the family business in 1987 while attending college. He graduated from Walsh College with a degree in business administration. Brian oversees all aspects of the operations at Packer & Associates. He attends hearings and meets with clients to go over what is needed to prevent unnecessary unemployment claims. He also conducts a workshop for the management personnel of clients in further attempts to control the cost of unemployment. With many years of experience he adds knowledge and insight to the field of unemployment insurance. Brian is a frequent speaker at various Chamber of Commerce functions and other association conferences.

David Wagner

David Wagner graduated from Walsh College with a degree in business administration and proceeded to join the company in 1988. He is now an expert at overseeing the processing and protesting of claims, along with working with each client account individually. After many years of processing claims he has become quite proficient at finding ways to keep claimants from collecting benefits and more importantly finding ways to keep our clients account from being charged.
